LIVING LEGACY
The SLSG Living Legacy Fund is an endowment that allows for scholarships to be awarded to deserving players who have talent and passion but may not have the financial resources to join the club or continue as a valued player. The 2025-26 application is now closed.
Our 2026 Living Legacy Honorees
Saint Louis Scott Gallagher is honored to induct Dennis Long and Jake Tallon into our Living Legacy Hall of Fame as our 2026 Honorees.
Dennis Long was a visionary leader whose passion for soccer left a lasting mark on St. Louis. As an executive at Anheuser-Busch, he chaired the committee that developed the St. Louis Soccer Park and helped elevate the sport locally and nationally, including support of the U.S. bid for the 1994 FIFA World Cup. In honor of his commitment and impact, the park’s main field proudly bears his name — Dennis P. Long Field.
Jake “Jakey” Riley Tallon was a cherished member of the St. Louis Scott Gallagher family whose passion for soccer and unwavering spirit left a lasting mark on our community. A dedicated player and loyal teammate, Jake inspired those around him with his courage, resilience, and love for the game. His impact on Scott Gallagher Soccer extends far beyond the field, and his legacy will forever remain part of our club. #47strong

Living Legacy Scholarship Fund
The St. Louis Scott Gallagher (SLSG) Living Legacy Scholarship Fund honors the enduring impact of those who have shaped our soccer community by supporting the next generation of young athletes. This fund provides full and partial scholarships to deserving SLSG players, empowering them to continue their soccer journey and further their personal development.
Each scholarship awarded through the Living Legacy Fund is a tribute to the extraordinary individuals inducted into our Living Legacy Hall of Fame. These remarkable people have made lasting contributions to the club and left a powerful legacy, and through this scholarship, their spirit continues to inspire.
The scholarships are determined by a committee composed of individuals from both inside and outside of the SLSG community. The selection process considers key criteria such as financial need, character, and a demonstrated passion for the game of soccer.
Annual Events: Celebrating Legacy and Community
To honor the Living Legacy Hall of Fame inductees and celebrate our scholarship recipients, we host two signature events each year: Living Legacy Night and the Living Legacy Match.
- Living Legacy Night: This special evening is dedicated to sharing stories and memories of our Hall of Fame members. It’s a time to reflect on their impact and celebrate the scholarship winners who carry forward their legacy.
- Living Legacy Match: This fun-filled day brings our community together for a tailgate, exciting soccer action, and camaraderie, as we cheer on the Saint Louis University (SLU) Men’s Soccer team in a thrilling match against a collegiate rival. The event also serves as a fundraising opportunity to support the scholarships, ensuring that the legacy of these incredible individuals lives on for years to come. The 2026 Living Legacy Match will be held on April 11th, 2026 at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, MO at 2:30pm. The match will be SLU Men's Soccer Team vs. Indiana Men's Soccer Team.
Through these events and the scholarship program, the Living Legacy Fund continues to inspire and support the bright young stars of SLSG, ensuring that the values of character, dedication, and love for the game remain at the heart of our club.
