| SLSG Juniors Exceeds Capacity for Spring Program St. Louis Scott Gallagher, one of the nation’s top youth soccer clubs, is experiencing record-setting popularity with the SLSG Juniors Program. The program, designed to teach the game of soccer to players from the ages of 3-9 years old. A skill-based curriculum with an emphasis on fun has led to an all-time high in youth participation.
“Once we surpassed our original capacity, we kept finding ways to accept more players until we ultimately were forced to turn players away. Our structure and curriculum have been very well received by the players and parents. It is exciting to see so many young players each week at the Soccer Park learning the game, improving their skills and having a great time,” said SLSG Juniors Director Matt Stichling.
Each week players focus on individual skills as well as fundamental team concepts. The training sessions and games take place at SLSG facilities in Creve Coeur and at the Soccer Park, with new programming coming to the metro east in the fall. The Juniors Program provides the best entry into competitive soccer in the St. Louis area.
“It is great to see new players and families experiencing SLSG, as well younger brothers and sisters of current SLSG players beginning their soccer career. We strongly believe that the game of soccer can positively impact the lives of younger players and we are excited to be able to create such a tremendous environment for these young people to learn, grow and play. They are the future of SLSG,” said Patrick Barry, Executive Director.
