SLSG MO Boys Academy players Aedan Stanley and Josh Sargent have both earned recent call-ups with the U.S. Men’s National Team program.
Stanley, a member of the SLSG MO U15/16 Academy team, was called up to the U-18 U.S. Mens’ National Team for the Nordic Cup in Sweden earlier this month.
He started at center back in all four of the U.S. matches, and captained the side in games against Sweden and Iceland.
The U18 USMNT placed fifth at the tournament, going 2-2-0 with wins over Faroe Islands and Finland. Stanley had an assist in the 2-0 victory against Faroe Islands.
Sargent, who also plays on the SLSG MO U15/16 Academy side, was named to the U-15 U.S. Boys’ National Team for a pair of matches against England later this month.
The U.S. will play two games against England on August 16 & 19 at St. George’s Park in Burton-upon-Trent, England.
Sargent also played with the AS Roma USA Academy at the Dale Farm Milk Cup in Northern Ireland in late July. His team went 2-1-0 in three matches.
“Aedan and Josh have put a tremendous amount of time, effort, and commitment into their training,” U15/16 MO Academy Head Coach Jon Boyer said. “Our academy staff is proud to have them represent St. Louis and SLSG at the national levels.”
