St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club

SLSG IL - Girls Premier Program

The SLSG Illinois Premier Girls program is designed to create a competitive environment for players to continue to develop their playing abilities and understanding of the game. Players participate in training sessions that are developed and run by SLSG Illinois team specific coaches. Players compete in two different leagues and play in events to provide challenging game environments for further growth and development.

LEAGUES

Saint Louis Youth Soccer Association (SLYSA)

The U13-U18 SLSG Illinois Premier teams play in SLYSA. This league consists of many St. Louis area clubs and multiple divisions. League games are played in Missouri and Illinois. The major objective of the organization is to develop, promote, and provide top level competition for YOUTH Soccer in the greater St. Louis area.

National Premier Leagues (NPL)

The U14-U18 SLSG Illinois Premier teams (and the U13 Pre-ECNL team) play in the Midwest Developmental League (MDL), which operates within the US Club National Premier Leagues. The MDL currently consists of four clubs: Chicago Sockers, Nebraska Elite Girls Academy, SLSG Illinois, and SLSG Missouri. The NPL provides a unified, league-based national developmental platform with the highest level of competition in its geographic areas.   Created to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape based upon US Club Soccer’s fundamental principles, the NPL extends developmental principals espoused by the U.S. Soccer Development Academy into younger age groups and additional clubs, providing a platform for long-term player development. More specifically, the NPL provides a platform:

  • Focused on long-term player development;
  • For the country’s top soccer clubs, allowing consistent, meaningful high-level games appropriately scheduled with higher training-to-game ratios;
  • That allows players to be scouted and evaluated by U.S. Soccer National Staff and Technical Advisors;
  • That is designed and structured by the clubs, based on the needs of the clubs; and
  • That provides an avenue for qualification for the NPL Champions Cup.
