Congratulations to SLSG Illinois 9900 ECNL player, Tamia Cash, who participated in the 2014 US Club Id2 training camp this past week. The event which concluded this past Sunday at WRAL Soccer Center in Raleigh, N.C.targeted girls born in 2000 Cash was one of 60 players born in 2000, selected from across the United States to participate in this National Player Identification event.
Cash, a defender who is from O’Fallon, is enjoyingher third year as an SLSG Illinois player and is beginning to make her footprint in the Elite Clubs National League. According to SLSG Illinois 9900 ECNL coach, Shawn Hewitt, “Tamia has been a huge asset to the club and our team. Her vision and technical ability on the field allows us to build from the back half of the field. Her pace, matched with her competitive edge has allowed her to become a very talented player. Tamia has adjusted very well to a higher level of play and will no doubt be turning heads at the upcoming ECNL National events.”
According to Cash, “It was a great experience to take part in. The training environment really pushed me, as the intensity level was always at a high level. Being able to listen guest speaker Toni Payne was also something I won’t forget. She shared her experiences and told us her story about making it to a World Cup. I also really enjoyed making new friends this past weekend. I am sure I will be seeing them on the field sometime soon.”
Cash and the SLSG Illinois 9900 will return to ECNL action on Friday, April 25th at 8:00 PM in Collinsville where they will face off against the SLSG MO 9900 Elite ECNL team. The group will then travel to Kansas City over May 3/4 to compete in the ECNL U14 Showcase. The team will be one of 22 teams that will compete in this national event.
