ST. LOUIS – Over the Thanksgiving weekend, St. Louis Scott Gallagher hosted its annual Turkey Bowl on Saturday, November 28 at the Soccer Park.
A total of 150 teams participated in the event, ranging from U6-U12 Boys and Girls teams.
“As you walk around the Soccer Park during the Turkey Bowl, you see so many families and teams having fun and socializing,” Youth Director Ken Godat said. “It’s an event that our members will remember, and it really helps to build the culture of our club.”
In addition to the action on the field, the Turkey Bowl provided some community initiatives as well.
The SLSG MO Boys U14 Elite team used the event to sell club flags as a fundraiser for the Living Legacy Scholarship Fund. The team raised $1,100 in the name of Joe Green.
In addition, a shoe drive generated 50 pairs of soccer shoes for inner-city youth in St. Louis.
